Garden City Extends Win Streak to 36

In a game that was highly anticipated, the Garden City Trojans (6-0) went into Manhasset and dominated like a well-oiled machine. Whether it was touchdowns through the air or on the ground, or turnovers and sacks on the defensive side, the Trojans had a dominating performance, outscoring Manhasset 41-0 in the first three quarters of the game. This was Garden City’s 36th consecutive win – the longest active streak on Long Island.

In the first quarter, the Trojans had their first possession. On said possession, quarterback Carson Kraus and the offense ran eleven plays that resulted in a rushing touchdown by Trojans runningback Michael Berkery. The extra point was good. The Trojans then kicked off to the Manhasset Indians. On the Indians first possession of the game, they ran six plays that resulted in a 4th down attempt that was unsuccessful, and the Trojans took over on downs. This concluded the first quarter.

In the second quarter, on the Trojans second possession, they ran eight plays that resulted in Michael Berkery once again finding the end zone with another rushing touchdown. The extra point was successful. The Trojans then kicked off to the Indians. On the Indians second possession, they went three and out and punted to the Trojans. On the Trojans third possession, they ran three plays that resulted in another rushing touchdown by runningback Aidan Considine, and the extra point was good. 

The Trojans kicked the football off back to the Indians. On the Indians third possession, they went three and out and punted back to the Trojans. On the Trojans fourth possession, they ran two plays that resulted in a passing touchdown by quarterback Carson Kraus, and the extra point attempt was good. The Indians then ran five plays that resulted in another punt to the Trojans. 

Carson Kraus then threw a second touchdown, and the extra point was good. On the Indians fifth possession, they ran one play that resulted in a forced fumble recovery by Trojans cornerback Blake Cascadden. The Trojans offense capitalized on the play made by their defense, and scored another touchdown on the ground by Michael Berkery. The extra point was good. The Indians then took over and ran two plays that resulted in a fumble, which concluded the first half and the second quarter. The Trojans led 41-0 over the Indians.

In the third quarter, the Indians received the second half kickoff. On their seventh possession, the Indians ran ten plays that resulted in a turnover on downs on 4th and 20. The Trojans then took over on offense,and ran five plays that resulted in a punt back to the Indians. This concluded the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, on the Indians eighth possession, they ran fourteen plays that resulted in a touchdown, and the extra point was good. The Trojans then received the football and ran two plays that concluded the game.

The Garden City Trojans have a home game next Saturday against Elmont Memorial. The Manhasset Indians have a road game next Saturday against the Carey Seahawks.
