The Molloy Lions completed their sweep 11-4 of the Lincoln Lions on Sunday, April 30, despite fighting rainy weather conditions. Molloy moves to 31-14 overall on the season and 18-5 in conference play. Meanwhile, Lincoln falls to 11-31-1 overall and 4-15 in league play.

Mike Andreoli was credited with the win, his seventh of the season without any loses to boot, while Darrion Williams was given the loss. His record fell to 1-3 on the season.

After losing to Molloy 3-0 in game one of a doubleheader on Friday, April 28, followed by a 4-1 loss in game two, the visiting Lincoln Lions failed to warm up the bats to strike back.

The bases were loaded for Matt Yip when he doubled, bringing in Chris Peralta and Jake McCarthy to jump out in front 2-0. This was the start of a six-run second inning for Molloy. After that, JJ DeVito returned the favor with a single to score Yip. Following that, Garret Scavelli singled to center to send Robby Keane across the plate. To cap off the offense, Gavin McAlonie singled to right, scoring Scavelli and DeVito.

Peralta added to the lead in an RBI double in the bottom of the third, scoring McCarthy, making it a 7-0 ballgame.

DeVito lead off the fourth inning with a solo home run. After that, Aidan Larkin was caught out on a sacrifice fly to right field, but it gave Scavelli enough time to score the ninth run of the day.

After a scoreless fifth inning, Jaden Greenridge hit a triple, scoring DeAndrew Bowens and Alex Jones for Lincoln’s first runs of the day. Miguel Agramonte cut the lead to 9-3 when he singled to left field, bringing in Greenidge.

McAlonie tagged on another run in response in the bottom of the sixth when a sac fly to right field allowed DeVito to cross home plate, marking the scoreboard 10-3.

DeVito did exactly what his teammate did to score him, hit a sac fly to right field, but this time he scored Peralta, ending the offensive onslaught at 11.

Lincoln tried to get a rally going when Josh Sheperd hit an RBI groundout to third, allowing Agramonte to score the bases. That was all that was allowed in the top of the ninth, and the home team picked up the win.
